Week 7 at Bochum

Life at Bochum:

Wa Wa this was already my week 7 at Bochum, let’s go!

This weekend I went to Bonn with some friends.

Bonn was the 19th largest city in Germany, it was the capital of West Germany from 1949 to 1990.

At Bonn main station.

I went to Bonn University which was one of the leading universities in Germany, Karl Marx had study in this University.

Bonn Minster

The Bonn Minster was one of Germany's oldest churches having been built between the 11th and 13th centuries. (as I was not a Christian so I didn’t went in)

There was a big market after the church, my friend told me that the place was very bustling before festival.

Old Town Hall

Next to the market place was the Old Town Hall, it built in 1737 in Rococo style. It's used for receptions of guests of the town, and as a bureau for the mayor. I think it was something like our City Hall.

Beethoven Haus

Beethoven was a famous German composer and pianist. He was a crucial figure in the transitional period between the Classical and Romantic eras in Western classical music, and remains one of the most acclaimed and influential of all composers.

This was the place where Beethoven born. Can you imagine such a famous musician was born here? Haha, let me also infected the music of the atmosphere

P.S: they not allowed taking any photos inside, so I didn’t had any photos.

Actually, I have a question, which one was better? Beethoven or Chopin?

Anyone can answer my question? I will give him/her a present.

Beethoven's statue

The Godesburg was erected over an ancient cult site on the mountain peak in the early 13th century.

The Beethoven Monument behind me was unveiled in August 1845 in honour of Beethoven's 75th birthday at the first Beethoven Festival. The statue's stance and symbolism characterise the "inspired composer" who, with an upward-turned gaze, seems to receive a creative inspiration to record it in his notebook with his stylus.

Was this guy taller than Yao?

This was my first time saw the Street hip-hop shop, it sold jackets, shoes, caps etc.

(I'd like to buy but price is too expensive)

See this was a typical good student in Germany, he studied on the train. I think that the reason why Germany had so many famous people.

This week also was a Champions League final week:

Barcelona VS Manchester United

P.S: I was standing in a bystander to watch this game, as my supporting team Chelsea already out.

This was the game result, ManU lost.

Haha congratulate Barcelona!

This was the famous Germany food- pettitoes, it tasted crispy.

My friend brought it for me from Essen.Haha thanks

Ya this was my weekly food.

-flakes and mike for my breakfast

-rice, vegetable, chicken and sausage for my dinner

-soft drinks and soda water

(Germans like to drink soda water instead of mineral water)

As what I told you I had bought skateboard, so every day I went school by train+skateboard.

Study at Bochum:

This week I attended the team meeting and get a task from mechanical team chief Chirstof. I will like to thanks for Niko’s help, he helped me translate some information from meeting into English and gave ideas for start the task. Our team was rushing for the new car’s parts, we needed to finish laminated all the outside parts by next week as the car body need to send for painting on next week. Then after that the electrical team can start work. However our solar car will be ready in 6 weeks time. Therefore that will be a heavy work for next few weeks.

Alex and me were helping Armin do make new motor winding mold. They wanted to make a new motor coil which could have more efficiency.

We had cut 84 pieces of steels in 3.2cm.It took us whole afternoon to finish it.

We were doing some grinding for car’s cover, so it could fit to the whole car well.

This was part of car suspension, we make it by carbon fiber and aluminum.

After putting chemical to join the parts we need to put it in oven at 60 degrees for 6 hours.

I started my new task which was to design a new back wheel box, and after that laminate it.

So firstly I need to create the design, I spend 2 days created the design, showed it to Chirstof and followed his suggestions to make changes. Finally my design was passed and after that I need to draw it out on “Solid Works” .But I faced another problem, my computer was too “old”, every time I ran the program the system halted. Therefore I had drawn it part by part, I hope I could finish it before I go to Italy. (Due to confidential information I will show the design in my final report)

Was it a nice painting?

Today is Thursday I had post this report by today as I will going to Italy on Friday night, and I will spend 1 weeks time there to enjoy my holidays. So I my next report will show you my Italy trip. (I don’t know how many people are taking note of my blog)

At the end wish everyone have a nice weekend!
